Back in the Saddle Again (1977)

That's right, I actually wrote some.  A pitance really, just 1500 words about today, but damn, its been forever and it feels good to be back at it.  I made some decisions in the story, and for now I just have to follow through and let what happens happen.  Some of my vision has had to change a little bit, but that's okay, its what needed to happen at this point.  Whoo, super excited though.  Just had to be okay with it maybe not being quite as magical as previous stuff and go.

We're definitely over the midpoint in Secret in the Box, no doubt, we're quickly moving through the second and final act.  I feel bad that the second act seems like its slower than the first, and maybe that is something I can fix later, but right now I just need that lightning bolt of inspiration to really get a kicker to cinch it all together.  Genius, don't fail me now!

A most Ridiculous Dream

Haven't had one this wacky in awhile...

The beginning is less clear.  So I'm in a mall type place, running around, climbing things, having fun...I get to some office part with lots of elevators and there's some dancing around to avoid being seen by the office workers/ogres or whatever they are.  I don't see them because I'm avoiding them, but I get the idea they're ogres.

I get stuck because I'm on a higher floor than I thought and the elevators are like video game elevators, they only go down like one floor at a time, then you have to find a new one.  I finally find my way back to the main mall and then skedaddle out of the place, being chased by an obnoxious bunch of teenagers, including a girl who keeps mocking me for some reason.  Some construction workers decide to come help me out and they start beating the shit out of the girl.  I try to help the girl, but she keeps on making fun of me anyway.

So I run off, and now I'm running around the outside of the mall, climbing, jumping, etc., and I come across one of my students.  He asks if he can go with me, because we're still kinda escaping something or other.  He's a bit dopey, but I let him come.  Well, almost as soon as he joins me we see this gigantic, feathery prehistoric bird flying around and it lands on a fence on an enclosure where its nest seems to be.  Its as big as an ostrich, covered in feathers, and has a mouth the size of a crocodile or bigger with lots of teeth.

I'm trying to be like, "Hey, Max, check out this bird, but he's already well behind and he's making calls to the bird.  I try to tell him to stop, because giant, prehistoric birds are clearly not to be toyed with, but he won't listen.  So I basically have to go back and drag Max away, but he's still making calls and the bird starts following us.

There's nothing around to use as a weapon except this flimsy, small soccer goal, so I carry that along with us and when the bird gets too close I smack it with the goal.  Pretty soon it starts to realize that I can't hurt it.  By this point, Jane Lynch (as Sue Sylvester, from Glee), is nearby and heckling us; I guess its her bird, and there's no way to get it to go away without killing one of us.

I tell Max to run off ahead, and I still try to keep the bird at bay, but I know its no use, so I give in, but only on the condition that Jane Lynch let me check on Max.  She agrees, and I start to go, but then she lamentably tells me, sorry, Max already got eaten.  I think he was eaten by the bird, but there was also apparently involvement from some miniature zombies, Jane Says.

There's nothing left of Max but scrapings.  I get furious, grab a hammer, and utterly wreck Jane Lynch until she's a puddle of goo.  There're some miniature zombies there.  Either they were in her head or on her key chain, but either way, I hammer them into little red bits.

Then I woke up.

movin along...

Alrighty then, wrote some today.  hooray.  I'm at 60k words.  I'm not sure if what I'm writing is good, but there's something good about it.  Dream sequences are fun.

On another note, I've gotten some ideas for when I go back to Oraphan Cycle.  I need to read up on Genghis Khan.

Ripe

Working has taken a lot out of me, so not much writing (well, no writing) got done over the weekend, but she's comin along I tells ya.  About 53,000 words, 102 pages on Word, which means around 200 pages in a trade paperback.

This is badass, so read it:

Reply of the Zaporozhian Cossacks

Yes, it does deserve to be in monstrous type.  I'll have to do a little homage to this in Oraphan when I get back to fantasy mode.

Back in the Saddle Again

It feels good to write again.  I erased a whole big section, but that felt just as bad and wrong, so I added it back in, jumped back on that horse and started right on going again.  If I need to fix it, that's what second drafts are for (and at over 50k words and counting, second drafts are hard to even contemplate...how do those great authors do it? sheesh).

I feel like wimp.com has been letting me down lately.  Like this.  Spoiler (so watch first if you don't like spoilers, though its not exactly a big deal).  Okay, why assume that he picked an audience member truly at random?  Come on, guys, that's obviously the only way he could have pulled off this trick?  Guess what, if you're trying to trick Penn and Teller, then have them pick the random audience member.  That'd be much more convincing.  What I don't find convincing is Penn and Teller...seriously, guys, this is like Anya winning Project Runway with her Foley's chic line-up.  I'm not fooled at all you liars.

Enough of this nonsense.  Back to writing.  Another 800 words or so and I'll call it a night.

How the Internet Killed my Writing

Bam!  Gaming post!

Here be the best internet flash games I've played recently.

Kingdom Rush: By far the best tower defense game I've seen maybe ever, because I really don't care much for the genre in general (kinda played out).  This has got all sorts of freshness to it, nice graphics, and lots of replay value with all the extra challenges as you try to get those much needed meta-bonuses.

XenoSquad: Its like x-com light, but its based off this game, which I never played.  Doesn't have nearly the tactical or strategic complexity as x-com, but still really hit the spot for a couple hours.  The gameplay is very simple and whatever random elements to combat there are don't break anything (you're never going to miss a shot up close, for instance).  Looking forward to more from these guys.

Discount Mayonnaise:  Guessing the name has something to do with being in the giant worm cave.  I've only been playing this one for a little bit, but the manic style charmed me into adding it to this list.

Exit Path: There's actually a sequel to this game, but I don't think its nearly as good.  I think this is probably the best game overall on this list.  Gave me a real sense of accomplishment getting through it in good time.  Clearly a lot of polish put into the levels.

Solipskier: This I played a lot maybe two years ago.  Really sucked up some time.  I usually don't go for games you can't win, ie. all you do is go for the highest score, but this one won me over easily.

MeatBoy: This game had me addicted for several days, which is really good for a flash game.  I had to get every last bandaid!  Great old school challenge.  You gotta love the insane speed at which Meat Boy sprints across the levels.

Elephant Quest: This game has a great sense of humor.  Not exactly challenging, but the exploration aspect was somehow fulfilling.  Mostly its just amusing both for the gameplay (elephant with trundling turrets in tow) and the ridiculousness of the dialogue.

The Company of Myself: There are several of these 'moody' puzzle games out there right now, but I think this is probably the best example.  It def has better puzzles then several of the copy cats out there.  And no, its not a game about masturbation (that I know of).

Vox Populi, Vox Dei (a werewolf thriller):  A million style points to 'Vox Populi, Vox Dei (a werewolf thriller)', just on the title alone.  'Voice of the people, voice of God', and because it has nothing to do with werewolves, the parenthetical explanation.  Awesome.  This has brilliantly weird 80s weird factors going on; yes, I'm talking about the fact that the werewolves open up their chests to shoot things at you.  And then there's the fact that you're beating them to a bloody pulp every encounter you have.  Brilliantly visceral, and it does it with pixel art.  I only wish he'd come out with the promised sequel.

Zombotron: Another platformer with a few puzzle elements.  I like that it made it okay to have both zombies and killer robots and animated skeletons.  Sweet.

Alright, well, that's ten games...not necessarily my top ten, because there are a couple I can think of but I can't remember the names right now. If you happen across this post, stranger, feel free to comment below about any other awesome games I should be playing online.

Happy Halloween!

Its the specialest day of the year!  Hooray!  Everybody loves Halloween, especially me!  I won't be handing out the candy this year, instead I'll be working, giving rides to insane people on 6th street; hopefully it will be just as fulfilling.

Here, play a game!

I'll put more spooky stuff up as the day goes on, I'm sure.  In the meantime, I'll try to write again...should be easy since the veil between the worlds is at its thinnest point of the year.

Writer's Blah

I'm stuck...damn.  Haven't been able to write for days for some reason.  All of a sudden it all seems so contrived, and maybe it is.  I don't know. But I'll figure it out...somehow...

This has nothing to do with anything, but you can watch it anyway.

Oct

ITs the most wonderful time of the year.

First, I think a movie this good deserves a better trailer.

Ah, The Lost Boys.  How I love it.  But here's one I always try to watch at least once every year or two that probably most people miss.  Lair of the White Worm...not as dirty as it sounds
Back on the writing front, I've discovered a funny thing I do.  I'll want to write, so I'll describe what's happening next broadly.  But that sort of external description doesn't fit in this book, so then I'll go back and launch off from that in my more descriptive narration.  That's what I was doing yesterday, mostly, re-writing and editing what I had written before.  But then I got going and wrote an additional 1600 words, so that worked out well.

Tuesday, October 18, 2011

justanupdate

So I rewrote about 2000 words just now.  I didn't like how it was written before.  I'm much happier with it now.  The characters are being themselves again.  huzzah and some nice details have been added about snot.  enjoy...when I finally release the book, I mean.

In the meantime, enjoy this Its so cool.

Today's Update

So, while most of the day was spent in a useless way, I did manage to get 2700 words done this afternoon.  If only I was so productive all the time...At an important part of Secret in the Box, the kinda climax, as it were...but we're still a good way from being done.  A lot more things have to happen.  I don't think I could say its the midpoint, so far as length is concerned, but insofar as the plot goes, its sort of a midpoint.

So, I was explaining my story to somebody today and they told me to check out this movie called Tomboy.

Here's the trailer.

Did it surprise you?...it didn't surprise me, but I had been briefed on the plot summary.  I think I would have been surprised.  The way my friend was describing it, I was worried that the plot would be similar to Secret in the Box, but its obviously not at all, though I guess I can see why she said my story reminded her of it.  Thematically, there are some similarities, I suppose.  It looks like a really good movie, though I'm not sure I'd want to see it.  It can only possibly end in tears...and even if they're happy tears, I'm not sure I could take it.

Just an update and goodnight

Well, this is a boring post, but I just felt like saying that I'm back to work on Secret after a couple days hiatus.  I think I'm back on track now.  I had to insert something where there had been nothing before...take that as you will.  Turned out to be a decently substantial addition at around 2700 words.

Just so you don't feel cheated by the lack of amusing content in this post, have a little Tosh

p.s.(that turned out to not really be a p.s.)  I really am super excited about Secret in the Box...maybe its just my perverse sense of tragically bullying fictional teenage boys, but I think I'm doing something right on this one.  When I write, I actually feel good about what I've written...maybe that's a bad sign, I don't know.  I guess you 'the reader' will have to let me know when I release it.  Currently at 37,352 words and counting, this one I think won't be giant, but probably will be larger than Invalid.  New 'episodes' keep occurring on the way to the plot points, but I'm pretty sure I'm past the midway point at least.  Friend Nessa let me know she was actually impressed with the length since in her experience most ebooks turn out to be like 85 pages on her nook while Invalid came out to over 300...so kudos to me.

So, I'm not sure about the cover image for this one.  Originally I was going to go with something similar to Invalid.  Then, when I thought this would be a compilation of a few similar stories and entitle it Boy v. Universe, I thought I'd scrounge up some kid whose parents didn't mind him being on the cover of semi-disturbing sci-fi literature, maybe holding a baseball bat in some shadowy school hallway.  But now that it looks like I might just have Secret all by its lonesome, I'm not quite sure what to do with the cover image.  I can't think of anything that nicely summarizes the themes or the plot of this thing.  This will require thinking.

Movie Night

I spent the evening leisurely watching bad movies.  First was They Live which wasn't nearly as entertaining as I hoped, nor hilariously bad, but it was still bad, and sometimes funny.  I don't regret it nearly as much as Captain America.

Watching it reminded me of another movie I saw when I was a kid called Split Second.  Rutger Hauer is in it.  Do you really need to know anything more than that?  Come on!  Rutger Hauer!  Its kinda like a buddy cop monster movie, or something, and has all the tried and true tropes you'd expect..."He's been fired from every hell hole there is...but he's the best we got..."  And then "You read all those?"  "Yeah, I read them last night...after sex!"  Unfortunately, its never seen a DVD release, even though Star Wars has seen like 10...where's the justice?  Thankfully, the whole thing is up on youtube!!  You're welcome.

Today's progress

25,988 -28,489 right now, but prob more before bedtime.  At the moment, I'm distracted by this.

Finished at 30, 052, but I'm not sure how I feel about it.  The part I have today, I'm not sure how necessary it is.  But, then again, maybe that's why I make mostly shorter fiction.  I could pad everything with little episodes, but what do all those really say?  But, what I've written will probably survive in the full story, though it might get moved around in the timeline, I feel.  Still, hey, my goal today was just to write a good bit, and I managed 4000 words, so that's not bad.

back!

Woo, yeah, updates, huh?  How about them?  I got nothin much, except having to do my first big erase of a part from Secret.  I just didn't like one part, so its getting tossed out.  There was nothing 'unnatural' about it, so far as how it fit in the story, I just didn't like it, so bye, so long, you're gone, adios.

So, how about playing a giant flying castle that saves falling princesses and shoots robots?

Creativity...dieing...

Well, no, not so much, but I didn't get quite as much done.  Something was telling me to work on Celia and not Secret in the Box, but Celia didn't much happen, so in the last hour I got a bit more on Box done, 21110 words...so...just a thousand added.

Today's update (what would a downdate be?)

Good work today, Jakub Grimstad.

Today I wrote about 2300 words.  That's not all that impressive, I'm sure, compared to Steven King, who writes that many words in seven or eight dimensions at the same rate.  But hey, I'm not cracked out.  I really couldn't decide what to write earlier in the day, but this evening I cranked out 2300.  And looking at the time, its been about an hour since I started.  That's not so bad, really, if only I could do that many words every hour.  I'd have a novel in a fortnight!

Its actually been about 1.5 fortnights since I've started this new story, and it does seem like its going slow.  Well, not exactly.  The story is actually moving along, but the page count is slow.  But I did break 20,000 words tonight.  I expect the story to only be about 10k longer, but who knows.  Sometimes something I think won't take long ends up taking longer while all the stuff from earlier ends up being much shorter.  Once again, I really don't know how people pump out those 200,000 word super epics.  I pick those books up, and I can't figure it out.  Is it just more stuff happening?  Is there more description?

I actually think part of it is my writing style.  In a fantasy book, they're always explaining everybody's back story.  In my stories, I don't do that.  You mostly meet the characters where they are and go from there.  I may give a little detail as to their pasts, but mostly I feel its my job to show their character through their immediate actions and feelings.  Maybe because I was raised watching movies.  I mean, I read a good bit, especially when I was younger, but when I write I mostly try to write very sensually, and by that I just mean I try to engage the readers sensory imagination.  Not just in my more modern stories, but also in my fantasies I really like to give a sense of place.  In this story and Invalid, creating that sensory observance is very important to creating a nostalgia for childhood.  Its not always a happy nostalgia, but at least for me, I recall being much more observant to sights and sounds as a child.  The world seemed more real.  I try to make that come out in my stories.

Comics post 6

I cheated.  I'm re-using a comic I drew for somebody yesterday.  But hey, its new to you.

I like optional endings.  Its like getting two jokes for the price of one!

Blah blah blah

Sometimes you have a scene in your head that goes nowhere.  What you have says something about the characters, though maybe it doesn't actually further the plot line.  That's fine, but after what you have to stay there, you can leave your characters standing around blinking or you can suddenly cut to some other time.  But that can be awkward if

GOOSE!

Just wait. There'll be more.

Another day, another dollop

the secret to making a good hotdog is putting the condiments on the wiener itself.  Some folks put mayo on their hot dog, and while this is generally wrong, putting a small amount on the bun itself can bring out some of the other flavors and keep some buns from sticking to your mouth.  A classic Texas hotdog really only needs mustard, but I like me some pickle relish as well, which I feel is an under appreciated addition.  Ketchup should be used sparingly, and really is only appropriate when pickle relish is also present.

As Aristotle said, "Katsup is the idiots only culinary necessity."  But we don't need to take Aristotle too seriously, we can have catsup sometimes.

In some places, they put raw onions and even tomato on a hotdog, I feel like this is too close to pico de gallo, and since I don't think Tex-Mex and hotdogs really should ever be combined, I avoid it.

When making brats on a bun, I like to sautee up some onions as well, for emotional support.

Why I shouldn't draw comics, 4 (the new batch)

So...who likes Startrek?  Everybody, that's who!

Fine, so its not super original...didn't I say this is why I shouldn't draw comics?  Stop complaining and get me a Dr. Pepper

Turns out I was in the gutter all along...

So, a couple weeks ago I got tickled by the phrase "discovering he's gay."  Its weird, isn't it?  This idea that we discover our sexuality, like it was hiding beneath a rock or something.  On the other hand, it can seem like our sexuality is something apart from us, a sort of invader.

Long story short, I'm writing a short story (see what I did there) about a boy who discovers his homosexuality in a shoe box in the middle of a field.  It should be both funny and heartwarming or terrifying and melancholic, or all of those things.  Man, if I could evoke that many emotions in 40k words, it'd be like I'm a good author or something.

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

a few seconds later...

While mentioning web comics, I have to give a nod to this here thing.  All fans of Dragon Ball Z should find it funny, or die.

A Social Experiment

So I used to read this webcomic called Mac Hall, back when the earth's crust still hadn't formed.  They've moved on to bigger and better things, so the comic isn't updated any longer, but I remember one post they had that was pretty funny.

They were getting a sudden increase in site traffic, and when they checked it out they found that most of their hits were coming from google searches for digimon porn.  Now, they don't actually have any digimon porn on their site.  But it got me to thinking, could I do the same thing.  Let's find out ;)

Why I don't Draw Comics, part 2

Despite protests to stop, I cannot help but unleash my genius upon the world...

Insight of the day

So its easier to write about kids because I was actually a kid once, but I haven't ever actually been an adult.  At any rate, my poor characters frequently end up in messed up homes, etc, and they got problems, let me tell ya.  I don't think people generally realize how messed up kids can be.  Kids are messed up!  People think they'll grow out of it, but then, when they get to adulthood, they're just expected to be grown out of it.  Once you don't look cute anymore (if you ever did), no more leeway for you.

So, I figured that's probably how I'll express adults from now on, at least in fiction that's supposed to be contemporary.  Just old, broken kids.  I mean, we don't really have 'trials of manhood'.  You're supposed to go work in an office somewhere, what's that?  No warrior ethos?  How boring.  So I write my fantasy males (that sounds suggestive) obviously different than I write adult men in contemporary fiction.  Men in my fantasy stories (still sounds suggestive) are more manly.  In some ways they're much more balanced, excepting that they're all vicious, violent brutes...but they're happier, overall.  So that's my (somewhat depressing) insight of the day.

I still haven't figured out how to write women, though.  A weakness, I admit.  I guess I'll have to follow Jack Nicholson's lead from As Good as It Gets

So, yeah, mostly working on Secret in the Box, today, a brilliant story, if I say so myself.  I mostly can't plan a story out in advance.  I go almost completely by visualization.  I kinda have to do 'method writing'...anyway, so I mine my past a lot for ideas on how to mess up children's lives in my stories, which is great fun.  Not sure if its therapeutic or pointing to more signs of trouble.  Only time will tell!

Why I don't write Comics, part 1

I sometimes come up with ideas for comics.

Its probably best I stick to writing novels.

Ridey Tidy

That's a little sketch I made of Ridey Tidy, a new character in Celia: Monster Hunter, or whatever I'm naming it.  I'm not an artist...just saying.  Its a little sketch and totally took me like two hours to draw.  Its also not particularly interesting...I mean, little anime girl red riding hood?  Yeah, mostly...but just what is in your picnic basket Ridey Tidy...what are you hiding?

ps.  She has two legs, the other one is just, you know, occluded or something...its back there.

pps. I bet if I made nudes of her, I'd totally start getting more web traffic :\

ppps.  'Occluded' isn't used right, but I like the way it sounds.  I'm a writer, I'm allowed to change the language to suit my needs...unlike people who just text unintelligibly.  Lose=\=Loose

I must not be writing...

Man, so, like, 2 posts in a day?  For reals?  Ya.

Good work done on Oraphan Cycle today.  What's that?  I haven't mentioned it on this blog.  Well, its my fantasy story.  Super serial.

So how many stories is that I'm working on?  Well, let's see.  Currently there's Celia: Monster Slayer, which is going to be a full sized juvenile fiction book.  Oraphan Cycle (thats the working title, by the way) which is a full sized fantasy.  The Secret in the Box, which is a short story, and then Fiery Brian, also a short story.  So that's only, what, four?  That's not that many.  And Fiery Brian and Secret in the Box may go in the same book...though my brother suggests they're too different to do that.  I'll figure it out later.

So. Yeah, gonna have a fantasy epic, though honestly, don't know how those other guys hack it.  400,000 words?  No way.  Though, ya know, I figured out that one secret of writing is re-writing, as opposed to editing the original.  You write it down, get those ideas out, and then expand on them.  First drafts should be drafts...only took me 30 years to figure that one out...

In theory.

Discipline!

PS. So, go figure, you get some interesting pics when you google image search 'discipline'

Wound Up

So, the hardest part of writing is putting down the, uh, keyboard when you get stuck, and taking a break, because you get really attached to the story you're working on and you don't want to quit.  Even though I know that sometimes I have to just stop and work on something else, some other story, I really want to keep on working on the story at hand because I had some momentum going.  But then you just force things that aren't there, get caught up in the words instead of letting the images write for you...I get all left brained, really, and that's no good for writing fiction, not for me, anyway.

Lesson learned, yeah, but hard to adhere to said lesson.  Discipline, discipline, discipline.

Oh, hey, do you like poppy dance music?  I don't typically, but you should check out Liz Primo if you like that sort of thing.  I got to hear a pre-release cd and actually liked some of the stuff.  Its fun.  Some of its kinda like The Ting Tings or even some of the more poppy Fantastic Plastic Machine.  Its up for pre-order on iTunes right now and should be out pretty soon; I think itunes says Sept. 13...I think that's my grandma's birthday.  Happy birthday Grandma!  You know what you're getting; hope you like lyrics with lots of sexual euphemism!  Anyway, scope it out, yo.  I like Candy Man, kinda has that FPM feel at points, and Wind Me Up is kinda 80s in some really good ways.

Oh, Noooooooo...!  Writers block?

Its not so much writer's block as...writer's....suck.  Because its like whatever I write, I hate.

Must...push....through.

Today I'll be challenging societal norms about homosexuality.  "What societal norms?" you might ask.  Can you talk about a single societal norm regarding gays, when we live in a society of diverse societies.  I mean, there are at least two, right?  There's the one that hates gays, and there's the one that is chill with them.  What I like writing about are gays who hate themselves, because that makes everybody happy...or offends everyone

Hopefully both.

I think every blog post should have some sort of link to something else, you know, so its like, multimedia...this is entertaining for at least seven minutes.

I guess that has more to do with the space story I've been writing...though I haven't in awhile...

Give me time to live it up

Man, so I'm working on this new story that has me kinda stoked.  I hate to give it away, but it involves a kid finding a shoebox with mysterious and awful contents.  Its a sort of period piece, and I'll give ya a little hint as to when precisely.  I've actually managed to write about 9 pages of solid story in the last two hours or so, which is outlandishly fast for me, almost unprecedented, so I really can't wait to unleash this one out into the world.  It'll be a short story in my upcoming compilation also Featuring things with names like 'Super Scaz', a tale of a boy, robots, and their cats, and 'Hats off to you kids', a sort of neo-Lovecraftian ode to Stephen Spielberg boy worship.

Maybe I'll give more hints later on about it all.  Super excitement, woot.

Celia: Demon Slayer

Celia: Demon Slayer is in the works!  It's a...well...fantasy thing about a little girl whose half mountain nymph and likes to slay things.  If it sounds silly, it is, but in a fun way.  Here's a little snippet to entice you.

"Red Rover, Red Rover…"
They let Bill come over.  Bill was caught.
"Celia!" called Mitch.  "We have to get to the concert!  We won't be close to the stage at all if we don't go!"
"Yeah, Celia," yelled Elliot, younger of the Bitter brothers, his red hair waving truculently in the breeze, his nose upturned in malice.  "Go ahead and go!  We'll never give in!  We have Bill back, and we'll never lose!  We'll get him back as many times as it takes."
"Run away, Celia," yelled Tony, his nose upturned in malice, his red hair waving truculently in the breeze.
"You can't win, Celia."
"You have to go to the concert."
"We can be here all night."
"We have no curfew."
"Despair."
"Despair."
"Hopelessness."
"Despaaaiiiiir…"
Celia set her jaw forward.  "This ends now."

Short but sweet, hope that gets you wanting more.  If you want to support me and make me work even faster, make sure to go over to smashwords and buy up my first (more serious) story Invalid, which is about a boy, a clone, and revenge.

Welcome

Welcome to my new blog.  I figured I should have one being the burgeoning author that I am.  Make sure to go check out my first book, Invalid, available only online.  It will soon be on all the major distribution sites, but right now you can find it on Smashwords.  I also get a little more of a cut from Smashwords, so shop there ;)
